Midland Corridor Transportation Study
The OCCP has been engaged in the Midland Corridor Traffic Mobility Study since it was started in 2021. Additionally, OCCP members, through service on other OCC Stakeholder Boards, were involved in Traffic Engineering's Traffic Study conducted with Kimley Horn back in 2015 and the Community Assessment conducted by Downtown Colorado Inc. in 2018. This continuity through these studies is beneficial for representing OCC and it's boards in discussions with the city as the most recent study progresses.
The OCC SIMD, and as a result the OCCP, is engaged with Parking Enterprise regarding parking in OCC. The infrastructure maintenance in an area that is over 40 years old presents a number of challenges and requires tough decisions and compromises.
While some funding has been identified for projects that emerged from the study, the money is allocated for future years. However, all recommendations from the study will be incorporated into future construction opportunities, as appropriate.
The study process included consultation with a team of stakeholders representing various interests of the study area. Additionally, public input from previous studies and the recent public outreach effort for ConnectCOS, the City’s Intermodal Transportation Plan, was considered.
